Drottningholm Palace on an island outside Stockholm was originally built in the late 16th century and rebuilt from 1662. With its baroque church, Chinese pavilion, palace theatre and palace garden, Drottningholm is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is considered the finest example of an 18th-century northern European royal residence.
